What is THAP?

THAP, also known as The Happiness Project, is a mobile app that provides users with easy access to qualified psychologists and mental healthcare resources in a judgement-free format.

THAP allows users to schedule online therapy sessions with qualified therapists listed on its platform. Users can choose therapists based on their specific needs and attend therapy sessions discretely from the comfort of their homes.

THAP also uses gamification of Process-based therapy concepts in the creation of a mental wellness regime. THAP leverages the power of conscious self-regulation of thoughts, emotions, and behaviours and empowers the user to face both daily stresses and crises more effectively.

Is it free?

FREE features in THAP: Unlimited access to Daily mental health workouts, Self-therapy, Journaling, Psychological first aid and Community forum modules.

CHARGEABLE feature in THAP: Tele-consultation and virtual therapy sessions with a qualified therapist

Who can use the app?

THAP is suitable for any adult who wishes to embark on a unique self-care journey and prioritise their mental wellbeing. THAP provides psychological first aid tools to help with mild to moderate cases of stress, anxiety, anger, grief, loneliness etc. THAP also provides access to therapists through the app by way of scheduling appointments.

THAP does not provide any emergency services nor does it provide treatment for severe mental ailments such as bipolar disease, PTSD, schizophrenia etc.

What is the science behind the app?

THAP uses specific interventions within our control as human beings to self-regulate through self-awareness. When practised regularly, these interventions override unhelpful brain conditions and rewire the brain to a happier and more fulfilling mindset by modifying the actual neural network of brain cells.

THAP employs therapy forms derived from CBT, DBT, REBT, affirmation therapy, reflective therapy &  mindfulness.

THAP helps the user make bio behavioural changes to embrace mental wellness through a well-balanced and managed mind.

How can this app help me?

THAP helps you embrace long-term wellness and recovery. This means that with THAP, you will not only work on addressing the symptoms you have now but will also identify and address the source of these issues. You will learn to identify and understand your thoughts, feelings, and behaviour patterns as well as that of people who matter to you.

THAP will guide you in effective ways to:

  • Decrease or stop the unhelpful behaviours to which you are currently habituated.

  • Teach healthy coping skills to life’s issues and promote healing where it matters most - at the source.

  • Teach positive interpersonal, self-awareness, and communication skills to help you improve your relationships and have long-term emotional growth.

  • Give you first-hand, easy-to-do exercises and activities that will guide you toward the life you desire.

Why should I use the app if I am feeling fine?
